Top 10 Things to Do & Experience Around Vancouver

Summer might be over (we refuse to believe it), but there’s so much you can still do around the city! We picked 10 of the coolest experiences to try in and around Vancouver.

Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park

Does heaven have trampolines? I don’t know, but I used to ponder this question every time my mom took me over to my friend’s house to jump on her trampoline. That was pretty much the best experience that was available at the time before trampoline parks came into existence. Moms get a chance to breathe for a few hours while the kids keep themselves entertained and are elated because, well, they’re at a massive trampoline park. Sky Zone also has trampoline dodgeball and basketball, and features battle games like SkyWars (using cool blasters, foam balls or darts). Having a kid’s birthday here automatically makes them the coolest kid of the year for a solid 2 years and mom has the most relaxing time ever. I should mention that many adults join in on the fun too.

Check Out This Exclusive SocialShopper Deal:  $39 for unlimited jump time for 4 people, jump socks included, plus you get an extra large pizza from Uncle Fatih’s pizza and unlimited soft drinks!  Get This Limited Time Offer Here for Only $39  (70% Off Regular Price $130)

Kobe Restaurant’s Complete Hibachi Teppanyaki Dinner Experience

This is one of those experiences that you’ll want to go again and again with a different (or the same) group of people and want to take your friends and coworkers too.  “Have you ever gone to Kobe’s?!” will be your most-used statement for the week following this unique, scrumptious experience. This complete hibachi teppanyaki dinner experience is made by a top chef and you can’t help feeling somewhat entranced by how it’s being made right in front of you. Each meal includes the following: teppan shrimp appetizer, shabu shabu soup, rice, seared vegetables, beef, tiger prawns (my personal fav!), teriyaki chicken breast, green tea and ice cream for dessert.

Check Out This Exclusive SocialShopper Deal: $68.99 and up for a complete hibachi teppanyaki dinner experience for two or four people, valid Sunday through Friday at Kobe Japanese Steak & Seafood House.  Get This Limited Time Offer Here for Only $68.99  (Up to 46% Off Regular Price $119.90)

DVC Indoor Shooting Centre

A month ago I tried this shooting range experience for the first time and it was such a fun experience that I told myself I’d come back and bring a few friends. We got these cool target posters (you get to choose between a green person, a zombie, or some other options) and then we compared to see who had the best aim at the end. I can only imagine how fun it would be with a larger group of people and comparing our target posters. The staff are super helpful and knowledgeable – I had no idea how to hold a gun and they guided me through every step and we got glasses and ear muffs to protect our eyes and ears. We also got a tutorial at the beginning as well. They have a 4-star review on Yelp and Google and they also offer a FAQ on their site which was helpful for me as a first-timer. Overall this is an awesome experience and I should go back to practice my aim!

Check Out This Exclusive SocialShopper Deal: $29 and up for Shooting Range Admission with Handgun OR Rifle Rental + Ammo + Target at DVC.  Get This Limited Time Offer Here for Only $29  (Up to 53% Off Value up to $68.50)

Art Knapp’s Funland

“It’s that time again! Fall leaves, giant pumpkins, scarecrows and an amazing family time with rides, food and fun at Art Knapp in Port Coquitlam. Time to start (or continue) your new favourite autumn tradition.”
This place looks like so much fun for kids. They have a whole bunch of rides and activities: jungle gym, ferris wheel, zipline, sand excavator, pumpkin patch train ride, a bouncy castle, an animal farm, face painting and all sorts of other fun stuff. They also do undercover rides for rainy days! So I’m digressing again but can someone explain to me why these cool places didn’t exist when I was twiddling my thumbs as a kid? Oh well, I guess this means I’m going as an adult. See y’all there!

Check Out This Exclusive SocialShopper Deal: $10 for $20 worth of ride tickets.  Get This Limited Time Offer Here for Only $10  (50% Off Regular Price $20)

Live To Surf

I don’t know the first thing about surfing but I do know that $30 for a full surf rental setup (daily rental of surfboard or bodyboard, leash, wetsuit, boots, gloves and hood) is a great deal. I’m also the type of person that doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a first time trying something because I tell myself that if I like it, I’ll come back and pay full price later. So for that price, I want to go try myself, especially after watching Blue Crush way back in 2002 and being totally amazed by those girls’ surfing skills. Live to Surf has an awesome 4.5 star review on Yelp so you can be sure you’ll have a great experience with them.

Whistler Treetop Adventure

Almost 500 people have already jumped aboard this deal because they too, like me, have a fantasy of becoming a real-life Tarzan (with a harness). In this cool experience, you maneuver through treetops over swinging logs, Tarzan ropes, balls that swing, across monkey bars and ziplines, plus even more. See above for their 360 video preview of the course. They have over 70 elements (ranged from mild to wild) and their 5 star reviews are further confirmation of how cool of an experience this adventure actually is! Another useful piece of info is that you can do it rain or shine.

Cirque Du Soleil’s Show KURIOS in Vancouver

One of the coolest shows of all time, enough said. Raise your hand if you’ve wanted to always go to Cirque shows yourself or wanted to take someone else but the cost deterred you. Okay so I can’t see your raised hand through a computer monitor but I’m betting to guess that some of you nodded in agreement. Cirque Du Soleil shows are being offered at an almost 40% discount from regular pricing for a few more weeks so get them while they’re still available. This show KURIOUS is described as “a mysterious and fascinating realm that disorients your senses and challenges your perceptions”. That sentence is pretty much enough for me to get a few tickets before they’re sold out. I believe it too, because I saw one of their shows a few years back and felt like I’d gone to a completely different world for the entirety of the performance. That picture above makes me CURIOUS to know a) how in the world they can get their bodies to move LIKE THAT and b) that guy’s (girl’s?) pain tolerance on the bottom right is also defying some laws of its own.

Check Out This Exclusive SocialShopper Deal (ends Monday Sept 18): $54 and up for Tickets to Cirque Du Soleil’s Show KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities Oct 20 – Nov 30.  Get This Limited Time Offer Here for Only $54 and up  (37% Off Regular Price $86)

Vegan, Gluten-Free, High / Afternoon Tea at Indigo Age Cafe

If it’s something I love, it’s a good, tasty, affordable high tea. There’s just something iconic about the warm scones and butter they serve at these places that makes me feel like I’m in the sequel of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Except that instead of Audrey Hepburn being featured – it’s me, and I’m not-so-glamorously shoving a scone into my mouth while trying to tell my best friend that all is well because everything is gluten-free and vegan. Indigo Age Cafe features an organic raw, vegan, gluten-free high tea which includes a delicious array of house-made petit desserts, tasty snacks, mini wraps, vegan cheeses and chocolate and berries.

Check Out This Exclusive SocialShopper Deal: $39 and up for vegan, gluten-free, high tea for two or four people, valid any day.  Get This Limited Time Offer Here for Only $39  (Up to 42% Off Regular Price $65)

Flying Trapeze Class

This cool experience is something you’ve probably seen in the movies or videos but may not have tried yourself (if you have, very cool!) Watch the short video above from a YouTuber who describes her first experience swinging from a trapeze. The deal is valid for everyone aged 6 years old and up and you’ll be swinging, flipping, and laughing at all the fun for the 2 hour class when you’re there. You also get a branded t-shirt as part of the deal so when you change into your pajamas on some random day in 2019, you’ll smile back at the memory of yourself going out of your comfort zone and giving yourself an awesome adrenaline rush.

Check Out This Exclusive SocialShopper Deal: $45 for a Two Hour Flying Trapeze Class + Branded T-shirt.  Get This Limited Time Offer Here for Only $45  (52% Off Regular Price $94)

BBQ Boating Experience

Mmm did someone say BBQ…We’re in. Wait, BBQ and boating?! We’re on our way. What better way to celebrate the last few days of sun than to go on a boat and have a BBQ and enjoy some drinks with friends and family.  You bring your food, drinks, and crew and use the BBQ and grill in the boat to whip up some delicious food. The boat leaves from Granville Island and you make your way to False Creek and English Bay, enjoying the views while enjoying a mouth-watering BBQ. You don’t need a boating license either, so what are you waiting for? Get out there before the summer is officially over (yes, we know it’s September…and no, we believe the summer hasn’t OFFICIALLY ended yet. Just take our word for it).

Check Out This Exclusive SocialShopper Deal (almost sold out): $189 for a 2-hour BBQ boating experience for up to 8 people.  Get This Limited Time Offer Here for Only $189  (Up to 24% Off Regular Price $249)
